Fun (and Instagrammable) Things You Can Do in the New Boracay

World-renowned Boracay has been one of the top tourist destinations since its early developments back in the ’70s. Over time, it faced more attention and more traction that eventually led to the defacement of the popular island. In April 2018, the government closed it down for renovations, and now that it’s almost 100% back in business, people are expected to flock the island once more. If you’re planning to visit the newly-rehabilitated island, here are some things that you can do all year round.

White Beach

Imagine sparkling blue waters crashing on powdery white shores. The island’s White Beach spans 4-km long and is ideal for all-day activities for all ages. Get your mats and round blankets, put on that sunscreen, and tan your fair city skin away.

Water Sports

The beach can be fun to relax in, but when the stillness gets too boring for the adventurer types, one can try out some of the water activities that the island has to offer. Jet skis, speedboats, kayaks, parasail facilities, as well as banana boat and fly fish equipment are on hand and waiting. For those who’d like to romantically experience the famous Boracay sunset, sailboats can also be rented from the locals.

Spelunking and other activities

Staying on the island doesn’t mean the beach is the only place you can hang out in. Check out the Crystal Cave and the Bat Cave, and either rent an ATV or take a guided foot hike to the island’s tallest mountain, Mt. Luho.
