Poblacion—a cross-platform for Makati’s red-light district, a sleepy neighborhood, and the middle of a hipster, food hub, creative spaces, and independent restaurant revolution. Known for its unique energy and culture, Poblacion binds these worlds together in a harmonious rhythm that naturally comes together on its own.

So when an iconic brand like Heineken decided to jump into this and open their own bar, Verde at Poblacion, we knew we had to check them out. Being a natural explorer, I took the opportunity to walk around Poblacion to get into mood in time for their launch. Passing through residential houses and then houses converted into bars, you get to feel a different kind of energy, a fusion of different cultures packed into one area. Speakeasy bars beside tall hotels that light up the sky sets the mood.
Passing through one street to another, I made my way to Verde. Right in the middle of Kalayaan Avenue, Verde is situated in the middle of the action. Open-spaced and well-lit, Verde feels like entering a cool friend’s house where you can drink and chill the night away. Verde merges culture, music, and creativity while staying true to its 150-year heritage as the curator of world-class experiences. Luckily enough I saw some old friends and colleagues at the launch event. It’s safe to say that I genuinely enjoyed the launch. With its easy atmosphere and neighborly soul, Verde is for anyone who wants to try the Poblacion experience and Filipino hospitality.

Verde is located at 8479 Kalayaan Avenue corner Fermina Street, Poblacion, Makati City.
